Marian Elizabeth Klose, 91, passed away Tuesday Oct 28, 2014, at Ava Maria Village, Jamestown ND. Marian Elizabeth Reimers was born December 31, 1922 to Adolph and Lora (Walton) Reimers, in Emmett Idaho. Marian graduated from Eagle High School. She worked as a secretary and in industry during WWII. Marian met her husband, Clemens A. Klose while he was stationed at Gowen Air Force Field near Pocatello Idaho. They were married Sept. 2, 1943 just before Clemens was deployed to England. After Clemens was discharged from the Army Air Force in 1945, they purchased and moved to a farm south of Jamestown, where they farmed grain and dairy with their beloved Holstein cattle. Marian was very active on the farm. She loved her family and being a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed being able to share her garden produce with their neighbors. She always had a love of flowers and liked to have them around her. Marian was active in "The Klose Homemakers Club" until it disbanded. She was well known for her barbeque beef sandwiches that the Club sold at many local auction sales. She was a 4-H leader for many years, teaching the young members skills in cooking and sewing. During the county fair she was at the Home Economics building helping set up the 4-H'ers projects and displays, and she took part in judging many of the exhibits. Many young homemakers remember Marian helping them with their first canning efforts from their gardens. As part of her activities supporting the dairy industry, she was active in the local chapter of The Dairy Woman of North Dakota. She was a member of St James Basilica Church. Marian is survived by three children: Barbara (John) Steinberger, Fullerton, CA; Dean Klose, Jamestown, ND; Renee (Wes) Valenta, Montpelier, ND; daughter in law, Iva Klose, Jamestown, ND; three grandchildren, Michael Steinberger, Santa Monica, Ca; Robert Steinberger, Los Angeles, Ca. and Justin Valenta, Jamestown, ND; one sister, Isabelle Cahoon, Boise, ID; numerous nieces and nephews.
