Marie Baumgartner

Marie Baumgartner, 86, of Cleveland, ND died Friday, December 20, 2002 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.

Marie Bischoff was born on June 17, 1916 in rural Ashland township, near Courtenay, ND the daughter of Ernest and Louise (Sperner) Bischoff. She attended various schools in the Ashland township, graduating from the eighth grade. Marie married Earl Baumgartner on October 2, 1940 in Courtenay. They farmed near Courtenay until 1969, then they moved to a farm west of Spiritwood, ND until 1972. Later, they moved to Cleveland, ND and purchased the Grocery & Hardward Store, which they operated until 1990.

She enjoyed painting, hunting, fishing, and her dog, Bucky.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Karen (Fred) Grabinger of Cleveland, ND; one son, Fred E. Baumgartner of Mandan, ND; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ervin (Olga) Bischoff of Park River, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one great-grandson, Joshua Grabinger; one sister; and seven brothers.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM - Monday, December 23, 2002 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Leiste officiating.

Visitation: Sunday, December 22, 2002 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Courtenay Cemetery, Courtenay, ND.
