Marie Sjostrom

Marie Sjostrom passed away peacefully at her home near Jamestown, ND on Thursday morning, July 25, 2013.

Marie was born on June 28, 1959, in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Harold and Darlene (Weber) Calkins. She grew up on the family farm near Spiritwood, ND and moved into Spiritwood with her family. Marie attended school through the 8th grade in Spiritwood, then Jamestown High School until her senior year when her family moved to Eckelson, ND. She graduated from Valley City High School in 1977. Marie married Bob Sjostrom on January 20, 1978 at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. She worked for Famers' Union Insurance for over 30 years. Marie was a Pampered Chef consultant for nearly 20 years and enjoyed meeting people through that passion. She was very close to her family and enjoyed the company of her friends.

Marie is survived by her husband, Bob Sjostrom, Jamestown; daughter, Erica (Nick) Ploucha and their daughter, Beatrix, Buffalo, NY; one son Mark Sjostrom, Navarre, FL; and her fourteen brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Darlene, and brother, Tim Calkins.

Eucharist of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at St. James Basilica in Jamestown, ND.

Rosary: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Vigil: 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Interment: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sanborn, ND.
