Marilyn K. Hart, 90, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.
Marilyn Katherine Truax was born February 11, 1922 in Portland, ND, the daughter of Roy and Carrie (Feucht) Truax. The family moved to Jamestown in 1924 where Marilyn attended school, graduating from Jamestown High School. On February 7, 1944 Marilyn joined the US Navy Waves and served during World War II. She was honorably discharged on July 22, 1946 and returned to North Dakota. Marilyn worked for the Veterans Administration in Fargo for several years and as a legal secretary for Hjellum, Nerison, Weiss Law Firm in Jamestown. She retired after 40 years as a legal secretary. On May 23, 1970 Marilyn married Wesley Hart in Jamestown. They made their life long home in Jamestown.
Marilyn enjoyed knitting, bowling, traveling, and spending several winters in Mesa, AZ. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday School for many years.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Wesley, Jamestown; one brother, Richard (Marvis) Truax, Jamestown; one sister-in-law, Jackie Truax, Jamestown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Basil and Glenn.
