Marlean Haskin

Marlean Haskin, 64, Fargo, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Innovis Hospital in Fargo.

Marlean Kienzle was born November 25, 1940 in Logan County, the daughter of Gust and Anna (Albrecht) Kienzle. She moved to Jamestown in 1953 and attended Jamestown High School. Marlean married Eugene Haskin on May 23, 1957 in Jamestown. She raised her family in Jamestown and worked at Hi-Acres Manor. In 1980 she moved to Fargo where she worked at various nursing homes and was a cook at the Cass County Correctional Center. Eugene died July 19, 1996.

Marlean was a volunteer for hospice, Sunlight Club (youth) and Beginning Experience. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church for 25 years and was very active in many of the church programs. These included singing with the Primetime Choir, participating in the drama club, organizing the monthly connection for the less fortunate and she especially enjoyed doing mission work. She was involved with Masters Theater and a member of the Red Hat Society. Marlean had a kind heart, giving spirit and was always thinking of others first and ready to lend a helping hand.

Marlean is survived by her daughter, Nancy Thompson (Vern Wegner), Jamestown, two granddaughters, Jessica and Shannon Thompson, Jamestown, a sister, Vivian (Samuel) Graves, Eugene, OR, a brother, Cleo Kienzle, Portland, OR, nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two children in infancy, son Thomas and daughter, Julie.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fargo, ND with Pastor Brad officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Gary Riffe officiating.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
