Marlene Pieske

May 28, 1937 — February 6, 2025

Marlene Pieske, 87, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Thursday morning, February 6, 2025 at her home at Eventide Assisted Living.

Marlene was born May 28, 1937, in Woodworth, ND, the daughter of Edward and Elsie (Cellmer) Wutzke.  She attended school at Woodworth and helped learn a strong work ethic with her family.  Marlene married Donald Pieske on November 20, 1955 at New Home Church, northwest of Woodworth.  They made their home in Jamestown where they raised three sons; Douglas, David and Dwayne.  Donald managed the National Tea grocery store and after the children were all in school Marlene worked at J C Penney.  They purchased the Jack & Jill grocery store in 1975 and Marlene worked in the office until the store closed.  She then went to work at First Bank, later US Bank. She left US Bank when Darin Peterson opened Midwest Financial Service and worked there until her retirement.  Marlene enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, playing pinochle and spending time at their cabin at Lake Sallie.  She was a great cook and always enjoyed hosting holiday family dinners.

Marlene is survived by son, Douglas (Patricia) Pieske and their children, Alex (Tonya) and Christopher (Christina) and their two children, Zachary and Elijah; son, David (Mary Beth) Pieske; son, Dwayne (Susan) Pieske; sisters, Mildred Reisnour and Phyllis Linssen; brother, Derrell (Bonnie) Wutzke; in-laws, Linda Kuhn, Cheryl Meier, Connie Marie Pieske, Richard Pieske and Gary (Connie) Pieske; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister and brother-in-law, Mardelle and William Caufield; brothers-in-law, Ralph Reisnour, Ray Grismer, Dennis Pieske, infant LeRoy Pieske, James Kuhn, and Donald Meier; and sister-in-law, Marlys Pieske.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 14, 2025 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, at a later date.
