Marlyn Guthmiller, 59, Medina, North Dakota died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Marlyn was born July 5, 1947 in Jamestown, the son of Paul and Frieda (Morlock) Guthmiller. He grew up in Pettibone and attended country schools and later public school in Pettibone. He worked for Pettibone and Medina area ranchers. Marlyn entered the US Army on October 10, 1966 and served in the Vietnam War as an 198th Infantry soldier until October 1968. He began hauling cream from farmers to Cloverdale Foods of Mandan with his brothers, Gene & Delton. He drove truck for Haybusters, worked for Guthmiller Earthmoving and also area ranchers. He moved to rural Cleveland until his illness.
Marlyn enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, animals, fishing and visiting with people.
Marlyn is survived by his father, Paul (Sally) Guthmiller; two sisters, Gloria (Dennis) Dollinger and Patricia (Pete) McConville; two brothers, Gene (Brenda) Guthmiller and Delton (Joey) Guthmiller, all of Medina; three step-brothers, Jack, Jay and Joel VanEaton; two step-sisters, Sherry Hanson and Susan Karn and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frieda and grandparents, Ludwig and Caroline Guthmiller and Amelia and Jacob Morlock.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Monday, July 2, 2007 at the English Lutheran Church, Medina, ND with Rev. Christopher Hogstad officiating.
Visitation: 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
