Marlyn G. Wick

May 18, 1951 — September 9, 2008

On September 9, 2008, Marlyn Gene Wick, 57, of Woodworth, ND, passed peacefully in his sleep from his earthly home to his eternal home.

Marlyn was born May 18, 1951 in Jamestown, ND, to Clarence ""Hoppy"" and Luella (Hetletved) Wick. The family lived in Carrington the first years of Marlyn's life and then moved to Woodworth where Marlyn continued to live until his death.

Marlyn and Candyce (Cook) were married December 21, 1973 at Woodworth. They lived on a little farm south of Robinson their first year of marriage and then moved to Woodworth where they have made their home ever since.

Marlyn raised cattle all of his adult life, worked for the city of Woodworth and drove school bus for the Woodworth and Carrington School District.

Marlyn (Jack to his friends) was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed goose hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed raising ducks, chickens and tending his garden. The special joy in his life was spending time with his two grandsons.

Marlyn is survived by his wife, Candyce, Woodworth; daughter Liza Wick (fiance' Dustin Hoffmann), Medina, ND; son and special daughter-in-law, Trevor & Mary Wick, Woodworth; grandsons, Brendan Gene Wick and Rylen Trevor Wick; mother, Luella Wick, Woodworth; three brothers, Daniel (Joyce) Wick, Carrington, Steven Wick, Woodworth and Corey (Vanessa) Wick, Plano, TX; step-sister, Joan (Daniel) Shroyer, New Rockford, ND; father-in-law, Robert Cook, Woodworth; sisters-in-law, Jodi Cook, Jamestown, Laurie (Daniel) Stewart, Grangeville, ND; brother-in-law, Rodney (Gayle) Cook, Woodworth; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother in infancy; mother-in-law; step-father; step-brother; and his grandparents.

Memorial Service: 1:30 PM, Friday, September 12, 2008 at the American Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND with Pastor Bruce Vold officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, North Dakota.
