Martha Dahl, 94, of Jamestown, ND, died Monday morning, November 28, 2016 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Martha was the youngest of eight children born to Christoph and Maria (Buerkle) Kinzler. She was born in Fredonia, ND on November 22, 1922. In 1942, she moved to California to help her sister and family who also moved there from ND. On June 4 1955 she married Joy Dahl in Las Vegas, Nevada. He died on March 21 1969.
She had many jobs and one of them was working for the Kaiser Company building ships. She did welding and also operated a drill press. Martha and her husband owned a TV business, sales and repair. They later added on an Electronic Wholesale business. She did all the bookkeeping and collection calls. She said she even went out to repossess TV's! She also owned a children's store for 5 years called "Heaven to Seven". Martha loved to travel and volunteered her time to various organizations until just recently. She also was on a bowling league for many years, competing at the local and state level. Martha, known as “Sis” to her family, loved her family and was involved in their lives.
Martha is survived by step children, Rita Mella and Wayne Dahl; 10 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren; and one sister, Mae Wendland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Esther McKenney, Alice Schweitzer, Walter Kinzler, Andrew Kinzler, Conrad Kinzler, and a sister Martha who died as an infant.
Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016 at New Hope Free Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Steve Berntson officiating.
