Martha Dalbol Haibeck, 79, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown.
Martha Rath was born on November 15, 1931, in Tuttle, ND, the daughter of John H. and Alvina (Schmierer) Rath, Jr. She attended school at Tuttle Public School. Martha married Andrew Dalbol on March 8, 1952, in Steele, ND. He died on July 27, 1973 under Martha's care. On March 9, 1974, Martha married Theodore Haibeck, in Tuttle. They farmed together for many years eight miles north of Tuttle. She was a member of English Lutheran Church, Tuttle. Martha was active cooking, canning, baking, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens, and listening to music and dancing. She was always helping people, doing embroidery, ceramics, plastic craft, drawing pictures, and was an amateur photographer. She especially loved taking pictures of frosty trees and sunsets.
Martha loved playing games with her family: King's Corner, golf, Canasta, UNO, and Don't Go to Jail. She almost always won. Martha enjoyed annual rummage sales with her daughters and annual trips to Medora, ND. She also enjoyed trips with her husband, including to Toronto, Canada, Seattle, WA, a cruise, and many trips with her family. Martha loved snacking on cookies, chips, candy, especially Three Musketeers, nuts, candied popcorn, and her favorite, ice cream. She loved dying Easter eggs and animals on the farm. Most of all, Martha loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who loved her.
Martha is survived by her husband, Theodore, Haibeck, Tuttle, ND; one son, Robert (Renea) Dalbol, Jamestown, ND; four daughters, Ladora (George) Schuessler, McClusky, ND, Margaret (Lyle) Buchmann, McClusky, ND, Cindy (Chris) Sarles, Gillette, WY, and Dorella (Larry) Lelm, Ada, MN; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Rath, Steele, ND; four sisters, Erna Charboneau, Spokane, WA, Elizabeth Dockter, Hurdsfield, ND, Dorene (Armin) Morlock, Bismarck, ND, and Rosella (Floyd) Seibel, Driscoll, ND; and one godson, Jacob Dalbol; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Andrew Dalbol; baby daughter, Anna Dalbol; stepson, Roger Haibeck; two sisters, Rose (Adolf) Feickert and Gladys (Jonathon) Weippert.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, ND.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres, Jamestown and 4:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Steele, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011 at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Steele, ND.
Interment: Tuttle Cemetery, Tuttle, ND.
