Martha Carolyn Stahlhut

February 28, 1932 — December 6, 2010

Martha Stahlhut, 78, Jamestown,
ND, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Ave Maria
Village, Jamestown, ND.

Martha Carolyn Schubert was born February 28, 1932 in Grand Forks, ND,
the daughter of Buell Wood and Hazel (Skjulsted) Schubert. She lived in Grand Forks,
Cando, ND and a
short time in Minnesota
with her parents. She graduated from Central High School
in Grand Forks. Martha married Duane Elmer Stahlhut on
February 10, 195_ in Grand Forks. They made their home in Grand
Forks before moving to Colorado Springs,
CO and then returned to Grand Forks.
In 1957, they moved to Jamestown,
ND where Martha worked as a
bookkeeper for Schubert's. She also
worked at the James River Senior Center
for 20 years, provided foster care and day care and was employed by Country
Nutrition in Jamestown.

Martha was a charter member of Atonement
Lutheran Church
in Jamestown
where she served in circle and on the council.
She was active in Eastern Star, with whom she was a Past Matron,
homemakers, enjoyed crafts, camping, watching hockey and football and family
time, especially with her grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 daughters: Kari Brantley, Salida, CO;
Beth (Roger) Dewald, Jamestown, ND; 2 sons: Paul (Joan) Stahlhut, Jamestown,
ND; Rollie (Carol) Stahlhut, Jamestown, ND; 8 grandchildren; 6
great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Lilly Walker, Newfoundland, Canada and Smithe
(Robert) Docktor, Helena, MT.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Marvin.

Memorial Service - 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Atonement
Lutheran Church,
Jamestown, ND

Interment - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.

Memorials -
may be directed to the American Red Cross, James River Senior Center, or Atonement Lutheran
Church.
