Martin Hauf, 87, of Medina, ND died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at the Jamestown Hospital.
Martin was born in Gerber township, near Woodworth, North Dakota, the son of Julius and Pauline (Ferl) Hauf. He was baptized as an infant at New Home Trinity Lutheran Church. Martin was confirmed on Palm Sunday, April 9, 1933 at New Home Trinity Lutheran Church. He attended rural Gerber country school. Martin started farming in 1940 northwest of Woodworth, then he moved to a farm in Strong township. He resided there until retiring in 1978. Martin moved to Medina and lived with his brother, Otto. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and visiting.
Martin served on the Strong Township board for 12 years and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND
He is survived by his brother, Otto, Medina, ND; two sisters, Frieda Hauf and Gertrude (Vergel) Neumiller, Medina, ND; two sisters-in-law, Irene Hauf, Halstien, WI, and Elsie Hauf of Jamestown, ND; and two nephews and five nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Emma; and four brothers, William, Rudolph, Gustave, Walter.
Funeral Service; 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 16, 2005 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth, ND with Rev. Mark Schlamann offficiating.
Visitation; 1:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Eddy Funeral Home.
