Marvin Halverson

August 31, 1930 — September 10, 2015

Marvin Halverson of rural Tappen, ND died on September 10, 2015 in a Fargo Hospital with his family at his bedside. He lived northeast of Tappen from the time he was 10 until his death. The family moved from Marstenmoor to Weiser Township in 1941.
As the only son of Albert and Agnes Halverson, he carried on at the family farm after the death of his father. His mother died when he was eleven. He attended a one room school and graduated from Pettibone High School in 1948.
He married the love of his life, Loretta Walz, in November 1951 and raised to children, Amy & Mark.
Marvin farmed all of his life, raising grain, doing some custom baling, wintering calves and selling hay.
They made two trips overseas, one to Norway and one to England when Amy was stationed there in the Air Force. They also did sight seeing in the U.S.
Marvin was civic minded, and was in demand as an officer for different organizations. His church came first always, and he served as treasurer for many years and was a faithful member.
