Mary Eva Aberle, 80, LaMoure, ND, formerly of Edgeley, ND, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.
Mary Eva Mathern was born January 20, 1926 on the family farm south of Napoleon, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wald) Mathern. She was raised on the family farm and attended school at the rural Shell Butte School near Napoleon, ND. On November 6, 1944, she married August R. Aberle at St. Anthony Catholic Church at Napoleon, ND and they settled on the Aberle family farm, Linton, ND. In 1949, they moved to a farm in Berlin, ND, where they lived and farmed until retiring in 1982 when they moved to Edgeley, ND. Mary Eva was a cook for the Frontier Café, Edgeley, ND and the Edgeley Senior until 1990. In 1990, she moved to Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley and in October of 2004, entered St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND.
Mary Eva was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and playing cards and was a frequent blood donor for the Red Cross.
Survivors include 8 children: Raymond (Patty) Aberle, Amenia, ND; Betty Ann (Edgar) Peck, Lake Shore, MN; Donna (Gerald) Bauer, Watkins, MN; David Aberle, Fargo, ND; Jerome (Doreen) Aberle, Berlin, ND; Ronnie Aberle, Arlington, TX; Gerald (Eileen) Aberle, Fargo, ND; Patrick Aberle, Edgeley, ND; 18 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; 8 siblings: Elizabeth Wald, Bismarck, ND; Dorothy (Wes) Hoopman, Bismarck, ND; Bernadette (Leo) Vetter Bismarck, ND; Joseph (Elaine) Mathern, Bismarck, ND; Mary (Al) Nicolini, Lodi, CA; Blaise (Josephine) Mathern, Minot, ND; Rose (Joe) Aberle, Linton, ND and Theresa Lacher, Williston, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, August; 2 grandchildren: Amy Aberle and Christopher Aberle; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
