Mary Lou Arneson, 87, Henderson, KY, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died June 6, 2007 at home in Henderson.
She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholoc Church. She was a loving wife and mother. In her younger days in Jamestown, she was active in her church, helping to initiate the Christian Family Movement in the early 1960's. An avid golfer during her years in Washington state, she went on to win a state amateurs golf championship for her division. She loved to read, was an activist for a variety of social causes, and a lifelong Democrat. In her later years in Henderson, she grew to love southern bar-b-que and the gentle climate. She was blessed by the kindness of the people she met during her time in Henderson.
Ten children survive to carry on the loving memory of their parents. They include three daughters, Pam (Greg) Fordyce, Grand Forks, ND, Jeannie (Chris) Davis, Bristol, England and Susan Arneson, Fargo, ND; seven sons, Bryce J. (Kathy) and Tim W. (Susie), both of Fargo, ND, James P. (Christina), Hurst, TX, Thomas S. (Diane), Henderson, KY, Paul M. (Dawn), John C. (Michelle) and Patrick J. (Tracie) of the Seattle, WA area; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, James Henry, Edgewood, WA; one sister, Margret Burlison, Fromberg, MT; a step-sister, Margaret (Breezy) Burlison, MT and step-brother, Jim Henry, WA.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bryce C.; her grandson, Tommy; her sister, Betty Simmons; her brother, Louis Henry; her parents, Louis B. and Mae Henry and her step-mother, Gert Henry.
Memorial Mass: 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the St. James Basilica of Jamestown with Father Joe Barrett officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
