Mary Brilz, 90, Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND. Mary was born March 23, 1912 in Fallon, North Dakota, the daughter of Frank and Mathilda (Kubista) Dworshak. Mary grew up and was educated in Morton County schools.
She married Lucas Brilz on June 15, 1934 in Bismarck, ND. They moved to a farm northeast of Bismarck in 1940. In 1963 they moved to Medina, ND where they owned and operated Luke's Bar for many years. In 1974, they retired and he died on November 2, 1974. Mary enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Viney Inglish, Medina, ND; Irene (Arlen) Hillius, Medina, ND; Kathy (Ernie) Dodson, Las Vegas, NV, fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two sister-in-laws, Betty Brilz, Bismarck and Della Brilz, Medina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters; Irene in infancy & Lorraine Semmel, two sons, Clarence and Virgil Brilz; three sisters, Emma Stroh, Rose Gilman, Veronica Stockert and three brothers, Frank, Pete and Val Dworshak.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM - Monday, March 3, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Medina with Father Joseph Okogba.
Vigil: 7:00 PM - Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM - Sunday, March 2, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, North Dakota.
