Mary Carroll, 85, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Hi-Acre Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Mary Ann Bender was born November 5, 1921 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Pfeifle) Bender. She was raised and attended school in Yankton. On February 14, 1941, she married Jack Carroll in Rock Island, Illinois and they settled in Brainerd, MN. Mary worked as a cook at Harold's Club in Brainerd and also at a garment factory. In 1958, they moved to Jamestown, ND where she worked as a cook at the Parkway Café. Later she worked at the Red Owl Grocery Store in the meat department. She retired from Red Owl in 1981.
Mary was a member of Jamestown United Presbyterian Church and the Jamestown Eagles Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include 3 daughters: Joyce (Lloyd) Diede, Jamestown, ND; Judith Ganser, Jamestown, ND; Susan (Virgil) Meidinger, Aberdeen, SD; a son, Mike (Barbara) Carroll, Eden Prairie, MN; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Stephen; 1 granddaughter; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral - 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Interment - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
