Mary Deery

Mary Deery, 102, of Jamestown, ND passed away early Wednesday morning, May 29, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Mary was born March 30, 1917, near Windsor, ND, the daughter of John and Mary (Staloch) Cichos. She attended school in Moon Lake Township in Stutsman County. In April 1940, Mary and Clifford Deery were married at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor. Clifford was a carpenter for Northern Pacific B&B and they traveled as needed, settling in Jamestown. Mary worked for several places in Jamestown, including Walch’s Market & Café and the Elks Lodge. She was a member of St. James Basilica and Tabernacle Society, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mary had a passion for gardening, sewing, and cooking, especially chicken noodle soup and Polish dumplings.

Mary is survived by her children, Annette and Rick Haugen, Chuck and Dee Deery, Bill Deery, Clifford Deery; daughter-in-law, Judy Deery; grandchildren, Stacy & Rick, Stephanie & Wade, Jennifer & Neal, Corey & Lori, Wayne, Jr., Dennice & James, Christ & Kari, Philip, Nick & Kari, Dexter, Jason, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Daulton, Gunner, Evyn, Weston, Tedi, Eli, Josh, Brittney & Ilya, Ashley & Florian, Dustin, Finley, Brooks, Damon, Ashtyn, and, Isyss; and great-great grandchildren, Nikolai, Elijah, and Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Wayne; daughter-in-law, Patty; and thirteen siblings.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, with a Rosary beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.

Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.
