Mary Guthmiller, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, August 23, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Mary was born July 19, 1917, in Jamestown, the daughter of Fred and Katie (Koenig) Guthmiller. She grew up and attended school in Sydney Township, near Jamestown. She started working for the Jamestown Hospital on July 11, 1936 and retired as Director of Housekeeping and Laundry on September 1, 1984 after 48 years of service.
She was a member of National Executive Housekeeping Association and the National Executive Laundry Association. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was very active in several groups; St. John's Lay Sacramentarians, THEOS Group, St. John's Quilters, Christ Care, St. John's Ladies Aid and the Jamestown Hospital Auxillary.
Mary is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Leslie (Bernice) Guthmiller, Jamestown, Richard (Joyce) Guthmiller, Jamestown, Fred Guthmiller, Jamestown, Helen (Julius) Hagel, West Fargo, ND, Margaret (Jerome) Johnson, Jamestown, and Edward (Margaretta) Guthmiller, Anoka, MN and one sister-in-law, Patty Guthmiller.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Harry, James, Albert and John.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp and Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Jamestown Hospital Hospice or St. John's Lutheran Church.
