Mary (Jerger) Lackman

Mary Lackman, 91, of Edgeley, ND, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her family.

Mary Jerger was born on March 12, 1927, in Mitchell Valley, NE, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Schmidt) Jerger. She attended country school and grew up on the family farms in Nebraska and in Minnesota. Mary Jerger and Manuel Lackman were married on April 26, 1958, in Bridgeport, NE. They made their home on a farm near Scottsbluff, NE, raising cattle and small grains. In 1964, they moved to a farm west of Edgeley where they raised their two daughters. When Manuel and Mary retired from farming they enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their daughters and their families. In addition, Mary enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and lunches in Edgeley with family and friends. She loved having her family come home and she always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (David) Chadduck, Jamestown, ND, and Susan Lackman, Bismarck, ND; four grandchildren, Jennifer Chadduck, Fargo, ND; Joshua (Trisha) Chadduck and their boys, Paxton, Tucker, and Manuel, Argusville, ND; Nolan (Katrin) Klose and their girls, Danielle, Regan, and Riley, Mountain Home AFB, ID; and Ashley Klose, Fargo, ND; one brother, Paul (Phyllis) Jerger, Gering, NE; one sister, Esther Schlotthauer, Scottsbluff, NE; sisters in law Patricia Lackman, Edgeley, ND; Barbara Lackman, Jamestown, ND; Laurine (Eugene) Olson, Fargo, ND; Leah Jaeger, Murfreesboro, TN; brothers in law Ruben (Lois) Lackman, Mandan, ND; Richard Olson, LaMoure, ND; Robert McDonald, Cloquet, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Mary Jerger, her husband, Manuel Lackman, seven brothers, eight sister in laws, and three brother in laws, as well as nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Jackson Building, Frontage Road (south of Prairie Rose Inn), Edgeley ND.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home Edgeley ND.

Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley ND in the spring.
