Mary Samson, 88, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital. Mary was born June 5, 1915, in Sheffield, ND, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Brittner) Ehlis. She grew up and attended school in Sheffield, ND. She married Pete Samson on September 29, 1936 in Sheffield, ND. They made their home near New England, ND where they farmed until 1975. Pete passed away in September of 1975, and Mary then moved to Dickinson, ND. In 1994 she moved to Jamestown where her home has been since. She was a member of Basilica of St. James, Jamestown and a member of the Altar Guild at Queen of Peace in Dickinson.
Mary is survived by four children, Sandra (Ronald) Heidt, of Jamestown, ND, Shirley (John) Sticka, of Dickinson, ND, Donald (Cecilia) Samson, of Springfield, OR, Kathleen Olheiser, of Belle Fourche, SD and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and seven sisters.
Funeral Service: 12:00 PM, Friday, July 25, 2003 at the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown with Father Steven Reiske officiating.
Prayer Vigil: 7:30 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: 4:30 PM, MST, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dickinson, North Dakota.
