Mattie Brandt, 96, of Jamestown, North Dakota, died on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Eventide, Jamestown.
Mattie was born February 7, 1922 at Nortonville, ND, the daughter of Homer and Clara (Green) Foy. She grew up and attended school at Nortonville. Mattie married Spencer R. Brandt on June 14, 1939 at Aberdeen, SD. They made their home on her grandparent’s homestead near Nortonville. Spencer died on September 14, 1995. Mattie was a resident of Eventide, Jamestown for some time. Spencer and Mattie’s life took them many places. They also lived in Litchville, Sanborn, Marion, ND, Chicago, IL, Star City, Royal Center, Logansport, IN, Port Angeles, WA, and in 1994, they moved to Jamestown, where Mattie has resided since.
Mattie is survived by her children, Dorothy Broadwell, Valley City, ND, Helen Hoveskeland, Sequim, WA, Spencer (Lisa) Brandt, Dickey, ND, and Tom (Lisa) Brandt, Eatonville, WA; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Clara Foy; husband, Spencer R. Brandt; son & daughter-in-law, Richard & Lavonne Brandt; daughter-in-law, Pat Brandt; son-in-law, Gordon Broadwell; granddaughters, Ranae Telios and Monica Brandt; great-grandson, Jerrad Lee; brother, Edgar Foy; and sister, Eileen Gusaas.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
