Meinhardt Flemmer

Meinhardt A. Flemmer, 71, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island, NE.

Mr. Flemmer was born January 20, 1935 in Turtle Lake, ND, the son of Phillip and Hilda (Bender) Flemmer. He grew up in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School in 1952. Meinhardt attended NDSU in Fargo, ND for one year, then served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958 in Hawaii. He married Colleen M. Schlosser on January 17, 1959 in Kensal, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where Meinhardt worked for Melland's. Later, he worked for AT&T in Fargo. They moved to Missouri and later to Grand Island, Nebraska where their home has been since. Colleen died on April 24, 2004.

Meinhardt was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, and the Elk's and Eagle's lodges in Grand Island, NE. He enjoyed woodworking and gemology.

Meinhardt is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jo (Patrick) Hallman and Brenda Jean Flemmer, both of Denver, CO; one grandson, Luke Hallman; one granddaughter, Erin Hallman; mother, Hilda Flemmer, Turtle Lake, ND; and one brother, Gary (Betty) Flemmer, Turtle Lake, ND.

He was preceded in death by his wife and father.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
