Melvin Bedker, 92, Edgeley, ND died at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND on Wednesday, October 05, 2005.
Melvin Stanley Bedker was born November 12, 1912 on his parents farm in Blue Bird Township near Jud, ND the son of John and Margaret (Kustenborder) Bedker. He attended the township school and worked with his father on the farm. Melvin married Hada Derry on June 18, 1940 at Edgeley, ND. They lived on a farm south of Jud for 3 years after they married and in 1945 purchased a farm west of Edgeley, ND. They farmed there until retiring in 1980 and moving into Edgeley where they have resided since. He entered St. Rose Care Center in LaMoure, ND in 2003.
Survivors include wife; 3 sons, Stanley (Donna), Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Gary (Diana), Sacramento, CA, and David (Donna), Edgeley, ND; 3 daughters, Eunice (John) Thorenson, Jamestown, ND, Kandas (Darryl) Edwards, Edgeley, ND and Melody (William) Gewecke, Fredericksburg, VA; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Mildred Wert, Grand Forks, ND. His parents, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother and 4 sisters preceded him in death.
Melvin was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Lisko Funeral Chapel.
Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
