Michael Lauber, 57, Horace, ND, formerly of Jamestown, ND died suddenly on Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Fargo, ND.
Michael Lauber was born October 15, 1950 in Jamestown, ND, the son of William and Dorothy (Hoffmann) Lauber. He was raised and attended school in Jamestown, ND, graduating from Jamestown High School in 1968. He then attended Wahpeton State School of Science. On March 14, 1970, he married Elaine Williams in Jamestown, ND where they made their home until 1990 when they moved to West Fargo, ND.
While living in Jamestown, Mike worked as a volunteer firefighter and peace officer and served 12 years in the National Guard. He also worked for the City of Jamestown and was an over-the-road trucker. He worked construction, driving truck and heavy equipment in West Fargo, ND.
Mike's passion has always been driving the Big Truck. In his spare time he loved to hunt, fish and camp.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Lauber, Parma, OH; a son, Jonathan (Doreen) Lauber, Parma, OH; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his parents, William and Dorothy Lauber, Jamestown, ND; a sister, Cathy (Larry) Tollefson, Mandan, ND; aunts, uncles, niece and nephews.
Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday
Interment - 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2008 at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan, ND
