Michael J. McGillivray, 57, of Jamestown, ND died Saturday, July 22, 2005 in Jamestown.

Mr. McGillivray was born July 30, 1947 in Jamestown to Howard and Marion (Kalblesch) McGillivray. He grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Michael married Barbara Liebold in 1966 in Jamestown, and later that year was inducted into the US Army on February 15, 1966. He was discharged on February 14, 1968 at Ft. Sill, OK as a specialist. Michael returned to Jamestown and worked for the Jamestown Public School systems. He married Connie Johnson in 1976. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked for the North Dakota State Hospital for seven years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, classic music, and spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren meant the world to him.

Michael is survived by 5 sons, Daniel (Teresa) McGillivray and Michael (Cindy) McGillivray, both of Valley City, ND, Robert McGillivray of Jamestown, Tim (Nevette) McGillivray of Wisconsin, and Nathan Ahner of Jamestown; 4 daughters, Kathleen (Andy) McGillivray, Carissa (John) McGillivray, and Julietta (Chris) Pahl, all of Valley City, ND, and Shannon McGillivray of Jamestown; 16 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Kitty (Alan) Graves of Jamestown and Pat (Frayne) Peterson of Moorhead, MN; 2 brothers, John ""Jack"" (Caroline) McGillivray of Rogue River, OR and Jim (Vidie) McGillivray of Cuba City, WI; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Barb McGillivray, Stephanie Ahner, Lorraine Sam, and, Lindy McGillivray.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Sally Brastrup and Jeanne Charnetzki; and special friend, Connie McGillivray.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.

Visitation: Monday, July 25, 2005 from 1:00PM to 8:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
