Michael Niess

Michael Niess, 41, of Frederick, Colorado passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1966 in Jamestown, ND. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1985.

Michael attended The First Baptist Church in Lafayette, Colorado. He enjoyed model railroading and reading. Michael was kind, loving, generous, a blessing to all and willing to help anyone in need.

Michael is survivied by Gerald and Deloris Walsh (foster parents) with whom he has lived with the past 35 years; father, Marlin (Wanda) Niess, Argusville, ND; mother, Betty Marton, Jamestown; two sisters, Lori (Brent) Tangen, Sparta, WI and Michelle Staehr, Austin, TX; two brothers, Monte (Rita) Niess, Hillsboro, ND and Jeff Niess, Albuquerque, NM; three stepsisters, Sarah (Tom) Meester, Valley City, ND, Elizabeth (Larry) Herzog, Columbus, WI and Rebecca (John) Drummond, Golden, CO; foster siblings, Randall and Brenda Buettenback, Julesburg, CO, Bonnie Schweitzer, Hill City, KS, Otis Fidge, Jamestown, and Madelyn Nuemman, Jamestown; 14 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jodi Niess and Holly Niess.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
