Milton Milo Hirchert

Milton Milo Hirchert, 74, Robinson, ND, passed away peacefully at his home on November 7, 2015. Milton was born September 9, 1941 in Bowdon, ND to Donald and Edith (Schlager) Hirchert. Milton graduated from Robinson High School in 1959. He married his high school sweetheart, Karen (Bertsch) Hirchert on January 9, 1960 in Steele, ND. Together they had four children.
Throughout their early years of marriage Milton and Karen lived in Jamestown, moved to the Bon farm in Robinson, and then made the transition to Valley City. During the winter of 1972 they moved on to the Bertsch Farm northeast of Robinson, ND. Before the move in '72, Milton worked many jobs including (Art) Bon Farms, Lindberg Construction, Jamestown, (Fred) Bon Farms, Volunteer Fire Department of Valley City, City Works Department, Valley City, Milt's Standard and the Hilltop Café both of Valley City. On their farmstead northeast of Robinson, they farmed grain and raised cattle. Even though they remained on the farmstead, he retired from farming but continued to work various jobs off the farm including, Northern Excavating, Pat Beil Trucking, Downs Farm and Wheat Growers. Milton was also a member of Eagle's Club for over 40 years.
Milton enjoyed spending time with family, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time outdoors; from boating, gardening, to tinkering in the shop and everything in between. Milton was always willing to lend a helping hand for friends and neighbors. For the last several years Milton and Karen have been taking the travel trailer to spend the winters in warmer weather. Growing temporary roots in Arizona, Texas, Florida and South Carolina.
Milton is survived by his wife, Karen (Bertsch) Hirchert of 55 years, daughters, Denise (George) Belohlavek, Lincoln, ND and Diane (Alvin) Fitterer, West Fargo, ND. Grandchildren; Matthew and Brittany Belohlavek, Lincoln, ND; Brandon (Elizabeth Brekhus) Fitterer, Enderlin, ND and Tiffany Fitterer, Toronto, SD. Great grandchildren, Aunya Brekhus and Mylo Fitterer, both of Enderlin, ND. One brother, Ernie (Monica) Hirchert, Columbia, SC. Numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Milton was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, daughter, Donna and parents, Don and Edith.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to McCoy Ministries, Jamestown, ND.

Funeral Service: 2:30, Thursday, November 12 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
Visitation: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, Thursday, November 12 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
