Molly Dibrito

January 7, 1927 — December 13, 2011

Muriel DiBrito, 84, of Bismarck, ND, formerly Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at her home in Bismarck.

Muriel (Molly) Irene Isakson DiBrito was born January 7, 1927 to Mabel (Peterson) and Ingval Isakson on her parent's farm at Benson Corners, North Dakota. For eight years, she attended Gladstone School #3 at Benson Corners traveling to and from by horse and buggy. During high school she was active in sports and school plays and spent summers on her parents' farm helping during haying and threshing season with her father and brothers, who owned their own threshing machine. Molly graduated from LaMoure High School in 1945; then moved to Fargo and worked at the Gambles Store and the Manchester Biscuit Company until she could earn enough money for dress clothes to work at J.C. Penney. She met her husband, John DiBrito, the day he returned from World War II. They were married November 24, 1947 at St. Joseph's Church in Moorhead and lived in Dilworth while John worked on the Northern Pacific Railroad. They moved to Jamestown in 1952 where they raised their eight children. John died in 1993 and she moved to Bismarck in 2007 to be closer to her children.

Molly loved doing any and all crafts and continued her childhood love of sports as an active bowler and golfer. She was an especially proud owner of 3 holes-in-one. While raising her children, Molly worked for Welcome Wagon, sold Avon, was a clerk at Barkus Hardware Store, packed eggs and was an inserter for the Jamestown Sun. She also hung wallpaper for 20 years with her good friend Evelyn Grimes. Molly enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid reader, loved doing word circle books and spent many hours drinking coffee and playing Bingo and Phase 10 with her good friends Betty Pfarr and Jean Szarkowski. She had a special bond with animals, especially dogs. Molly was a long standing member of the Jamestown VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Molly is survived by her three daughters: Mary (Bruce) Buchholtz and Roxanne DiBrito, Bismarck; Antoinette (Mel) Williams, Lake Bay, WA, and her five sons: William (Linda Rorman), Bismarck, ND; Daniel, Rocco and John (Jane) DiBrito, Fargo, ND; Peter, Eugene, OR and one granddaughter, Angela (Shawn) Carlson, Maple Grove, MN and five grandsons: Christopher (Angie) Buchholtz, Benjamin (Trasi) Buchholtz, Maple Grove, MN; Seth (Jessica) Williams, Wenatchee, WA, Isak & Mathias Williams, Tacoma, WA; four great-grandsons: Ky & Cole Carlson, Cedric & Dominic Buchholtz, and one great-granddaughter, Audra Buchholtz, all of Maple Grove, MN.
