Morris Mcgruder

Morris McGruder, 91, Medina, ND, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Morris Raymond McGruder was born March 11, 1915 on the family farm east of Medina, ND, the son of Edward and Mathilda (Meade) McGruder. He was raised on the family farm and attended Medina Public School and the rural school in Chicago Township near Medina, ND. Following his education he worked on the railroad for several years and at a flour mill in Valley City, ND for 4 years. He then began working for Moline Construction of Jamestown. On December 27, 1944 he married Gladys Gilbertson at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Windsor, ND and they settled on the family farm. At age 66, he retired from Moline Construction , but continued working on the farm, keeping cattle until the fall of 2006.
Morris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Medina, ND. He loved all animals, especially horses.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gladys, Medina; a brother, Donald (Velma) McGruder, Jamestown, ND; and a sister, Coletta (Armand) La Framboise, Sunnyside , WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Funeral Service - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Medina, ND with Father Jerome Hunkler officiating.
Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Interment - Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND
