Myra Isabelle (Baker) Foster, 75, died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at her daughter's home in Pingree, N.D. after a four year battle with Ovarian Cancer.
Myra Baker was born June 29, 1927 in Kensal, N.D., the daughter of Ben and Bessie (German) Baker. Her father passed away in 1941 and in 1943 she moved to Winterset, Iowa with her mother graduating from Winterset High School in 1945. They moved to Longview, WA and she was employed by Longview Lumber Company.
Myra married Warren Thomas Foster on April 5, 1947 in Kelso, WA. They made their home in Seattle, WA where they raised their family from 1947 until 1994, then moved to Pingree, N.D., until moving to Carrington in 1999. Mr. Foster died on October 6, 2001. Myra recently returned to Pingree to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Snyder.
Myra enjoyed family, knitting and crocheting. She also wrote many letters to keep in touch with family and friends.
Myra is survived by five children, Linda (Bill) Snyder,Pingree, N.D.; Deena (Pete) Chavez, Escondido, CA; Ben (Sue) Foster, Seattle, WA; Tim (Denyse) Foster, Renton, WA; Faith (Floyd) Presley, Renton, WA; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one step brother, Wilfred (Thelma) Aarestad, Jamestown, N.D.; and one step sister, Aggie Hartvikson, Fargo, N.D. Myra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one infant great granddaughter, Alaina, and five brothers, (Don, Lynn, Dale, Ken, & Paul).
Funeral Service: 4:00 P.M. - Sunday, October 20, 2002 at Pingree-Buchanan High School Gymnasium in Pingree, N.D.
Visitation: Saturday, October 19, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home - Jamestown, N.D.
Burial: Pingree Cemetery - Pingree, N.D.
