Myrtle Juanita Poseley, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota died August 19, 2004, in Jamestown.
Myrtle Poseley, the daughter of Daniel and Martha (Mueller) Flaig, was born November 28, 1920, at the family farm near Alfred, North Dakota, during a blizzard. She attended school in Jamestown and graduated from West High School in Waterloo, Iowa on June 5, 1940. She married Robert J. Poseley in Waterloo, Iowa. They lived in Jamestown where they resided the rest of their lives. She was active in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown Parent/Teacher Association, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. For many years, she operated the concession stand at McElroy Baseball Park.
Myrtle enjoyed sewing, embroidery and gardening, and she loved animals and watching the birds, squirrels and rabbits that came to her feeders. Her little dog, Bambi, was her special friend and companion for 16 years. Myrtle was greatly interested in information on her Germans from Russia heritage and she traveled to Germany twice, in 1984 and 1985, to meet relatives.
Myrtle is survived by one son, Rob Poseley, Georgetown, CA, three daughters, Dana (Richard) Herbert, Hanover, MD; Rickie Poseley (Gary Pearson), Jamestown and Layne Poseley, Aurora, CO, two brothers, Elmer (Frances) Flaig, Moorhead, MN and Dale (Mildred) Flaig, Devils Lake, ND, one sister, Vivian Jensvold, Jamestown, and two grandchildren, Jason Herbert, Hanover, MD and Giana Poseley, Georgetown, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Gladys Cool.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, August 23, 2004 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Gary Ball-Kilbourne officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
