Nancy Marie Bounds

Nancy Bounds, 65, of Jamestown, ND died Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Nancy Bounds was born in Moorhead, MN on July 13, 1952 and was raised by Merlyn and Ruth (Nolte) Johnson. She attended kindergarten and middle school in Cummings and Mayville. She attended high school at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, MN and graduated in 1970. Nancy went on and attended one year at Mayville State University and two more years at UND.

Nancy married Doug Bounds on June 23, 1973. They lived in Grand Forks for four years before moving to Seattle, WA where she worked at a child care center for three years in Kent, WA. They moved to Jamestown in 1980, where Nancy worked for the Jamestown school district for three years. She then became a stay-at-home mother once Heather was born in 1983 and in May of 1986, Nancy and Doug adopted their second daughter, Noelle.

She taught Sunday school for thirty-seven years and loved taking care of her grandchildren. She also loved to crochet, sew, bake, and collect nativity scenes.

Nancy is survived by her husband; Doug Bounds, two daughters; Heather (Corey) Wegner and Noelle (Michael) DeKrey, five grandchildren; Peter Wegner, Gavin DeKrey, Marcus DeKrey, Hunter Wegner, and Harper Wegner, three brothers; David (Annette) Dunning, Glenn (Susan) Johnson, and Luther Johnson, one sister; Barbara (Mark) Soderlund, sister-in-law; Sherie Johnson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Merlyn and Ruth Johnson, grandson; Tucker Wegner, mother-in-law; Vera Bounds, and father-in-law, Elmer Bounds.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2017 at Victory Lutheran Brethren Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Shawn Bowman Officiating.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Interment: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at Verndale Cemetery, Verndale, MN.
