Natalie McElroy, 87, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Jamestown Hospital. Natalie Chaloner was born August 15, 1916 in East Hartford, CT the daughter of Russell Smith and Marion (Davis) Chaloner. Natalie graduated from Evanston Township High School, Evanston, IL. She continued her education at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, IL and at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN.

Natalie married John E. McElroy on December 28, 1938 at Gethsemane Epsicopal Church in Minneapolis, MN. John died August 1, 1990.

Natalie was a member of the American National Cattlewoman and served as both State and National President. She was State President of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and a member of Chapter AS, secretary of the state Republican Party and attended four national conventions, a member of the Mayflower Society, the ND Beef Commission, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Grace Episcopal Church & Grace Guild.

Natalie is survived by three sons, John E. McElroy III, Topeka, KS; Peter M. McElroy, Jamestown and James C. McElroy, Ames, IA, one daughter, Katherine M. (Bart) Davis, rural Jamestown, six grandchildren, Matthew McElroy, Emily, Heidi & Julie McElroy and Meghan & Michael Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Grace Episcopal Church, Jamestown with Father Donald Brown officiating.

No visitation is planned.

Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
