Nels Albin was born in Spiritwood, ND to Evan and Magda Albin on May 29th, 1936. He went to grade school in Spiritwood and attended Jamestown High School where he graduated in 1954. He also attended college at NDSU and returned to Jamestown to take over on the family farm. Nels was a hard-working, dedicated farmer for his entire life until he retired.
He married the love of his life, Ileene Presler on November 21, 1992 in Jamestown, ND. He instantly became a husband, a father and a Grandpa and was very proud of his inherited family. Nels enjoyed travelling and visiting his family all over the globe. He enjoyed wood-working, designing yard decorations, collecting antiques, restoring tractors, and nature’s wildlife that visited the home frequently. His grandchildren enjoyed every one of his tractor rides just as much as Nels did. He enjoyed cards and games with family and friends, loved to read and never missed a chance to go out dancing with Ileene. He played baseball for the Spiritwood team early in his life, was a member of the National Guard for a few years and was on the Spiritwood cemetery board for many years. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist church in Jamestown as well. Nels kindness was genuine and abundant and you always knew this from the first time you met him.
Nels Albin was preceded in death by his sister Marlys Albin and his parents Evan and Magda.
Nels Albin is survived by his wife Ileene, step daughter Tawnie Jewett, step sons Perry (Michela) Presler, Troy Presler and Jason (Marnie) Presler, Grandchildren Taylor Jewett, Austin Jewett, Samantha Wallace, Tiffany (Angel) Boev, Lakyn Presler, Sterling Presler, Skyler Presler, Lauren Presler and one Great-Grandchild Willow Boev.
