Nita Erickson, 74, Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND.
Nita Rae Sainsbury was born July 23, 1933 in Thunderhawk, SD, the daughter of Henry and Irene (Armstrong) Sainsbury. She was raised north of Thunderhawk in Adams County and attended the rural Adams County School. She attended high school in Lemmon, SD and after high school attended Minot State University where she graduated with a Nurses' Aide Degree and graduated from Northwest Bible College, Minot, ND where she received a Ministerial Degree. On April 1, 1962, she married John Erickson in Miles City, MT. They made their home in Lemmon, SD and later in Jamestown, ND. Nita worked as a Nurse's Aide during most of her life. In later years she lived at the Jameshouse in Jamestown and then at Rock of Ages Assisted Living. She had just recently entered Hi-Acres Manor.
Nita was a member of the First Assembly of God in Jamestown, ND.
She enjoyed attending church, shopping and being around people, even though she was a very quiet person.
Survivors include her husband, John, Jamestown, ND; a son Tim Erickson, Bismarck, ND; a daughter, Ruth (Terry) Lutz, South Korea; 1 granddaughter, Tiffany Lutz; a sister, Delores Hoffman, Baker, MT; a sister-in-law, Frieda Erickson and nieces and nephews: Judy (Ken) Frey; Jim (Eva) Tesky; Rosella (Tom) Quinn; Ernie Tesky; Barbara (David) Glinz; Linda Elhard and Gary Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an aunt, Zoe Mack.
Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church, Jamestown, ND with Reverend Darrell Losing officiating
Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Interment - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
