Norine Naze

Norine Joyce (Cumber) Naze, 93, Montpelier, ND died Monday, November 23, 2020 at Eventide Jamestown.

Norine was born on June 17, 1927, to Herbert and Martha Cumber in Montpelier, ND. She attended elementary school in Montpelier and started high school there. Norine graduated from Jamestown High School in 1945. She then went to Valley City and received her teaching certificate. She taught in a country school for a year.

On April 10, 1947, she married Mr. Charles Naze. They lived in Montpelier for seven years, then moved to the farm. They farmed there for 49 years. Norine lived on the farm until July 19, 2019, when she moved to Eventide Jamestown. Her life revolved around her family and the farm.

Norine loved to spend her time raising her family, helping Chuck with the farm chores, gardening and canning. She also made the best apple pie around. She enjoyed many a night playing cards and enjoying her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Jr. (Cheryl), Kevin (Anita), Dale, Randy (Shelly), Kent (Allie) and Rodney (Linda); eight grandsons, four granddaughters, 16 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.

Norine’s wish was to have a private family service.
