Olga D. Pedersen, 93, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Jamestown died on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck, N.D.
Olga Mickelsen was born September 22, 1909 near Kensal, N.D., the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Larson) Mickelsen. She attended rural school in Foster County. She graduated from Kensal High School and Valley City State College. She went on to teach in many rural schools in Foster County, as well as elementary schools in Grace City, Kensal, and Eldridge.
Olga married Einar Pedersen on June 17, 1939 in Carrington, N.D. They farmed in several areas in Foster County until moving to Kensal in 1947 where she taught for 16 years. After retirement they moved to Jamestown. Most of the years there were spent at the Gardenette until she moved to Mandan in 1999 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Einar passed away on February 28, 1987.
Olga enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and reading. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and North Dakota Retired Teacher's Association.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Janice) Pedersen, Phoenix, AZ, and Ron (Judi) Pedersen, Fargo, N.D.; one daughter, Diane (Calvin) McAfee, Mandan, N.D.; one brother, Elmer (Florence) Mickelsen, Staples, MN; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Edmund, Carl, and Ben.
Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. - Saturday, December 7, 2002 St. Paul's United Methodist Church - Jamestown, N.D., with Rev. Donald C. Crippen officiating.
Visitation: Friday, December 6, 2002 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, N.D.
Burial: Kensal Cemetery - Kensal, N.D.
