Orlando Bracken

December 14, 1923 — July 11, 2008

Orlando Odeen Bracken, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota, went home to be with the Lord Jesus, Friday, July 11, 2008.

He was born December 14, 1923 on the home farm by Leeds, ND in Benson County to Lewie and Christine (Rodland) Bracken. He attended a one room schoolhouse and graduated from 8th grade. He along with his brothers worked hard on the family farm and also was the main mechanic for the machinery breakdowns. He loved helping his Mom with cooking and baking. He was married to Patricia Silberg on October 29, 1953. They lived different places in and around Leeds eventually settled on a farm north of York. While on the farm he came to know Jesus as his Savior and Lord and was baptized in Jesus' name according to the book of Acts and received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. This experience changed his life and it was the joy of his life to share Jesus with others. After retiring they moved to Jamestown and have lived there for 25 years. He played the mandolin, accordion, guitar, some violin and loved singing. He enjoyed wood working, playing rook, trips to the farm and rode motorcycle up to the last few years. One of the high lights of his day was having coffee with his friends at the Jamestown Truck Stop.

Those waiting to join him are his wife, Patricia, Jamestown; one son, Lanny; daughters, Sherry Bracken, Lori (Bob) Romsdal, Jodi Caldwell, Barbie (Lance) Caldwell, all of Jamestown; seven grandchildren, Kindra (Andrew) Tir, Ontario, Canada, Cameron Caldwell, Fargo, Timothy and Shiri' Caldwell, Jamestown; three great granddaughters, Victoria and Ava Tir, Ontario, Canada, Anna Marie Bracken, Jamestown; sister, Delores (LeRoy) Lunde, Devils Lake, ND; sister-in-law, Gloria Bracken, Devils Lake, ND; brothers, Lyle (Harriet), Leeds, ND, Gordon (Barbara), Grafton, ND, Roger (Marcia), Devils Lake, ND and Curtis (Beverly), Devils Lake, ND.
