Oswald “Ozzie” Schultz, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota, passed away peacefully February 21st at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Oswald was born May 11, 1929, in Woodworth ND, the son of Ernest and Bertha (Petzke) Schultz. He was raised (born and educated) in the Woodworth area.
He married Rose Laber, September 28, 1949 in Woodworth, ND. Ozzie met the love of his life at a dance in Pettibone. They resided outside of Woodworth for a few years and eventually moved to Jamestown, ND to raise their family. He started work for Stutsman County Road Dept as a blade man, later becoming the Road Foreman. He became County Road Superintendent in 1980 and assumed this position until his retirement in 1993. He was proud of his 34 years of work at the county road department and enjoyed the people he worked with. Ozzie and Rose enjoyed many years of camping and fishing. When the girls were young, the family would fish on weekends. The four girls could fish on the condition they had to bait their own hooks so he could have time to also fish. Ozzie enjoyed keeping his yard neat and was often seen mowing the ditch between roads in front of their house on his riding mower. He had a love for his family and had a hard work ethic always doing what needed doing to provide for his family.
