Paul Lipetzky

d. February 21, 2009

Paul Lipetzky, 75, Kensal, ND, died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Medcenter One Hospital, Bismarck, ND, from cardiac complications.

Paul Julian Lipetzky was born November 25, 1933 in McKinnon Township, near Kensal, ND, the son of Leo and Kathleen (Kienest) Lipetzky. He was raised on the family farm near Kensal. He attended and graduated from Kensal High School. On November 17, 1954, he married Donna Mae Cox in Jamestown, ND and they settled on the Lipetzky family farm where he farmed until retiring at age 62.

Paul was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, the Wildlife Club, the Kensal Community Café Coffee Club, and served on the Township Board.

Paul enjoyed activities including softball, golf, fishing, hunting and bowling. He played with the Kensal softball team for 25 years. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports as they grew up. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul was a loving father and grandfather and truly enjoyed his role. He went on many family camping trips when his children were young and, as they grew up and had families, the camping crowd just got larger. His great sense of humor made his life very happy. Paul loved to tease anyone who could take it, especially the young children. He liked going to auction sales where he purchased many items which were special treasures to him. He liked meeting his friends at the Kensal Café for coffee in the morning. His friends were very important to him and missing the morning coffee sessions during the winter left a void in his day.

Paul will be missed by his wife of 54 years, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, Kensal, ND; 7 children: Geoffrey (Nona) Lipetzky, Litchfield Park, AZ; Andrea (Carl) Huus, Jamestown, ND; Robin (Jill) Lipetzky, Chaska, MN; Richard (Lori) Lipetzky, Jamestown, ND; Kimary (Dale) Edland, Carrington, ND; Sharon (Bradley) Erickson, Bismarck, ND; Linda (John) Witzke, Bismarck, ND; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Patricia Neva, Kensal, ND and Leah Schaaf, Houston, TX.
