Paul Thomas ""Bud"" Zimney, Sr., 80, Jamestown, died Saturday, February 25, 2006 in Jamestown at his son's home, under the care of Hospice and surrounded by his family. Paul Zimney was born August 31, 1925 in Moon Lake Township, Windsor, ND to Thomas and Rose Ann (Staloch) Zimney. Paul attended Moon Lake Township Schools. He married Gladys (Lorraine) Klose on January 19, 1950, at St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown. He was a member of the Basilica of St. James, Knights of Columbus, Eagles and American Legion of Jamestown. Paul served in the United State Regular Army, 64th AAA gun BN in the occupation of Japan, as a Military Occupational Specialty Cannoneer. Paul worked for several of the construction companies doing concrete work. In the later years he was self-employed. Paul enjoyed his family, grandchildren and friends, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horseshoe, playing piano and guitar and listening to the Minnesota Twins while he made his horseradish.
He is survived by: wife, Lorraine, Jamestown; seven daughters, Elizabeth (Alan) Wibstad, Montpelier, ND, Kathryn (Craig) Jorgenson, Pelican Rapids, MN, Gladys (Jim) Tanata, Roberta (Lloyd) Landscoot, Cynthia (Jack) Clemens, Veronica (Wayne) Mickelson, Virginia Zimney (Scott Dunn), all of Jamestown, ND; four sons, David (Lori), Daniel, Daryl (Jean Carr), Paul, Jr. (Michelle), all of Jamestown; 29 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren; one sister, Margaret (Al) Neva, Shelby, MT; one brother, CJ (Ruby) Zimney, Gardner, ND; grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alex, Stanley and Andrew, three sisters, Josephine (John) Linstaedt, Theresa (Reynard) Thompson, Agatha (infant), one son, Douglas Zimney and a grandson, Tucker Wibstad.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Basilica of St. James Catholic Church, Jamestown with Fr. John McGinnis, officiating.
Visitation: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, February 27, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Rosary: 6:30 PM, Monday, February 27, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Vigil Service: 7:30 PM, Monday, February 27, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: St. Pauline Cemetery, Windsor, North Dakota
