Pauline Bergman, 78, of Jud, ND, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 8, 2022 at SMP Health – Ava Maria, Jamestown.
Pauline Annette (Stahl) Bergman grew up on the family farm at rural Pekin, North Dakota. She attended first grade in Pekin, then completed grades 2 through 8 in Bergen #4 in Bergen Township. Pauline graduated from Pekin High School as Salutatorian. Her higher education included three years at Mayville State where she pursued a secondary teaching degree. She moved to Palo Alto, California to nanny and attended FootHill Jr. College for a semester. Pauline attended San Jose State to receive a BS degree in English. She taught in Walhalla, ND and Gackle, ND. While in Gackle she was introduced to and married Alan Bergman of Jud. They spent the next years raising a family and working the family farm until seasonal retirement in Arizona.
Pauline spent many hours pursuing various interests and hobbies including volunteering in community and church organizations. Music, gardening, and in retirement, art were among her favorite pastimes.
Being associated with the Manor St. Joseph in Edgeley, where she enjoyed the example and mentoring of the Sisters had a tremendous influence on her and helped deepen her Catholic faith in many ways.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gertie (Brekken) Stahl and brother, Frank Donald Stahl.
Survivors are her husband, Alan; four children and five grandchildren: Halona (Chad Weisenburger), Isabelle and Oscar; Alana (Jonathan Shoemaker), Oliver and Leo; Larrin; and Leah (David Cathell), and Gaige.
Memorial Service – 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.
Burial – Jud Lutheran Cemetery, Jud, ND.
