Philip ""Phil"" Brown was born December 20, 1982 in Jamestown, North Dakota the son of Richard Dorman and Deidra (Steller) Brown. He was a 2001 graduate of Jamestown High School and was pursuing a fine arts and business degree at Jamestown College. He attended grade school at St. John's Academy, Jamestown.

Phil pursued his passion for life with a smile and a kind word to anyone that he met. His positive attitude was infectious. Spending time at the baseball park, playing basketball in summer league, enjoying Minnesota lake country over the 4th of July, the annual trip to the state basketball tournament or a summer afternoon at his grandmother's pool were special times for Phil. His love for music led him to develop a small business as a disc jockey. Phil hosted many college and high school dances where he'd spin CD's for various groups and many times at no charge.

Phil strongly believed in family tradition. He was a fourth generation soldier to serve in the United States military, a fourth generation member of the Jamestown Elks Lodge 995 and a third generation student at Jamestown College. He also pursued his faith by serving as altar boy at the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown.
