Phillip Plowe

Phillip Plowe passed away March 12, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital with his family at his side.

He was born to Harry and Minnie Plowe on February 22, 1928 at Pingree, ND. He attended school at Pingree and Edmonds, ND.

Phillip married Rose Plienis on February 22, 1948. They had two children, Lyle and Linda. After their marriage, they farmed near Jamestown, ND until 1959. At that time, he worked on an elevator crew until 1961 when they moved to Sioux Falls. In Sioux Falls he worked as a roofer and at Nash Finch wholesale grocery, where he retired from in February of 1990.

In 1971 Phillip and Rose moved to Crooks, SD where they raised sheep, chickens and parttime grandsons. Rose preceded him in death on May 10, 1994.

He is survived by one sister, Harriet Remmick of Jamestown; one daughter, Linda (Clarence) Mertens; 3 grandsons, Jim Havelaar, Joe Havelaar and Jeremy (Tara) Havelaar; 3 step-grandchildren, CJ, Becky and Kimberly, 5 great-grandsons; 10 step-great-grandchildren and lots of family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and his son, Lyle.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: One hour before the funeral service on Saturday, March 18, 2006.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
