Phillip Q. Runck

Phillip Q. Runck, 85, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Wimbledon, North Dakota, died July 27, 2005.

Phillip, son of Nicholas and Maude (Lannon) Runck, was born in Clemensville, ND on April 18, 1920. He attended & graduated from high school in Wimbledon, ND and vocational school at ND State School of Science in Wahpeton. He served in the United States Army from June 1944 to July 1946 as a radio mechanic and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargeant. He was awarded the Victory Medal, the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, two overseas Service Bars and a Good Conduct Medal.

On June 26, 1947 he married Lottie Mae Lewis in Wimbledon and farmed all his life. Lottie Mae died in 1982.

Phillip was a member of the Wimbledon Masonic Lodge, American Legion LaBrash-Altringer #236 and St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon.

Phillip spent his retirement years in Mesa, Arizona and it was there that he married Marion Benser on January 8, 1985. He lived in Bismarck, ND until he became a resident of Roseadele Home in Jamestown in April 2004.

Phillip is survived by his wife; two sons, Philip Craig (Evelyn) of Jamestown, ND and Kim (Del Mari), Alexandria, MN; one daughter, Carlla (Leon) Maki, Jamestown, ND; one step-daughter, Roberta Arenstein, Bismarck; one step-son, Rick Arenstein, Wahpeton; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Mae; his parents, Nicholas and Maude (Lannon); sister, Doris; brother, Frank and grandson, Thomas.

Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 30, 2005 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Wimbledon, ND.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
