Phyllis E Ibes

Phyllis Ibes, 88, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Tuesday night, October 6, 2020 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

Phyllis was born July 18, 1932, in Day County, near Webster, SD, the daughter of Charles S and Pauline (Olson) Dancer. The family relocated to North Dakota and Phyllis graduated from Jamestown High School in 1950. She married Robert Ibes, Sr. on December 29, 1950 in Jamestown. They made their home on a farm west of Jamestown from 1952 until 1996, and was always considered a farmer’s daughter, a farmer’s wife, and a farmer’s mother. Phyllis was an avid photographer and operated a portrait shoppe from 1947 to 1980. She was also active at the Arts Center, Jamestown. Robert, Sr. passed away on March 23, 1999.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Robert, Jr. (Karla) Ibes; grandson, Rory (Lorrie Somers) Ibes, Rachel (David) Vig; four grandchildren, Justin Ibes, Jessica Ibes, Erica (Brandon) Trom, and Evan Rene; special nieces, Kathy Nymeyer and Tracy Williams; 21 nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Grant Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Burton Dancer and Conrad Dancer; and sister, A. Carol Baker

Visitation: 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020 and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

A private family funeral service will be held.

Burial: Cleveland Cemetery, Cleveland, ND.
