Phyllis Roemmich, 83, Jamestown, ND died January 17, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.
Phyllis was born October 29, 1925 in Dawson, ND, the daughter of John and Martha (Weigend) Kemmet. She graduated from Steele High School. She married Reuben Hoff in 1942. Reuben was killed in World War II. In 1945, Phyllis married Samuel Roemmich in Aberdeen, SD. They lived in Steele until they moved to Bismarck in 1952, where she was employed for several years at Sears Roebuck. They later moved to Larimore, ND in 1959 where Phyllis was employed by the Johnson Stores and the US Postal service which she retired from after 19 years of service. In 2000, she and Sam moved to Jamestown. Phyllis was a member of the Methodist Church in Larimore and a life long member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Phyllis had a passion for music and loved to sing and play the piano. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and especially loved visiting with her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 64 years, Sam, Jamestown; two sons, Melvin (Kathy) Hoff, Forest Lake, MN and Dennis (Tami) Hoff, Larimore, ND; one daughter, Sharyl (David) Hagen, Jamestown; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Boukather, Lincoln, NE and Loretta Cassano, Reno, NV; and one brother, Gerald (Martha) Kemmet, Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Kemmet; two sisters, Lila and Delores; one brother, Gordon; and an infant son, Gary.
Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.
