Ralph Norden

Ralph A. Norden, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota, formerly of Kensal, ND, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Ralph August Norden was born December 18, 1915 at Woodworth, ND, the son of Philip and Helen (Seidel) Norden. He was raised and attended school in the Woodworth area. On June 12, 1941 he was united in marriage to Emma Ronholm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Kensal.

Ralph worked in the shipyards at Long Beach, California for 3 years during the war. They then returned to Woodworth, ND where they farmed until 1948. They moved to their farm southeast of Kensal where they farmed until retiring,and moved into Jamestown in 1995.

Ralph was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing and farming.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Emma, two daughters, Dorene (Tim) Van Devender, Winter Haven, FL and Judith (Martin) Pfotenhauer, Aberdeen, SD; two sisters, DeNee (Ray) Millar, Jamestown and Dellas Peterson, Roseville, MN; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Vern, Seth, Glen and a twin, Ray; seven sisters, Hattie, Ellen, Edith, Rachel, Esther, Lillian and Zella.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal, ND with Rev. Robert Hill officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Kensal Cemetery, Kensal, North Dakota.
