Ralph Wagner, 85, Jamestown, ND, died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.

Ralph Charles Wagner was born March 10, 1924 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND, the son of Henry and Nellie (Kiner) Wagner. He was raised on the family farm and attended the rural school until 8th grade while also helping out on the farm. He then attended Stratford High School in Stratford, WI, while living with his grandparents. He returned to the family farm and completed his last 2 years of high school at St. John's Academy in Jamestown, graduating in 1941. Ralph attended the North Dakota Agricultural College for 1 year before enlisting in the United States Army in 1942. He completed basic training in Fort Riley, KS and then taught mechanics at Fort Riley before going overseas where he served in France. He returned to Jamestown in 1946 and went into partnership with his brother, Bernard. Over the next few years, they bought land and continued to work the land they already owned. He retired from farming in 1988 and moved to the Heritage Center in Jamestown in 2007.

Ralph was a member of St. James Basilica, the VFW, American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Canada, and enjoyed playing pinochle with his friends at the Heritage Center.

Survivors include his brother, Bernard (Delores) Wagner, Jamestown, ND and many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.

Funeral - 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND

Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
